The conclusion of the group stage in the Champions League has been successful. Victory away to Manchester United with 4-3 was followed up with a cross away to Bayern Munich, and in the last round another three points were added to the account when Galatasaray was defeated by 1-0.
Lukas Lerager scored the decisive goal in the 58th minute, which would later attract a double card. The finish was really sweaty for the Danes, with Lerager picking up two yellow cards in the space of five minutes, with the last coming in the 90th. Galatasaray then created massive pressure and were really close to an equalizer in extra time.
– Of course, it feels incredible to be able to decide a match like this, says the match hero in TV4 Play’s broadcast.
It is the first time since 2011 that Copenhagen plays in the round of 16 in the Champions League.
United last in the group
Group A thus ended with Bayern on top with 16 points ahead of Copenhagen on eight. Galatasaray can continue their European play in the Europa League with their third place with five points. Last in the group came Manchester United, who only scraped together four sticks.
