Braun, who has a history of anti-Semitic statements, grabbed a fire extinguisher, walked towards the menorah and sprayed foam on the candles and the entire Sejm (lower house of parliament).
Sejm President Szymon Holownia expelled Braun from the current session and adjourned the session where Donald Tusk’s government would be put to a vote of confidence.
Holownia also said that a motion against Braun’s behavior would be sent to the prosecutor’s office and that the MP would be reported to have obstructed a religious ceremony.
The Presidium of the Sejm sentenced Braun to have half his salary cut off for 3 months and all allowances cut off for 6 months.
The Presidium authorized the Sejm Office to submit an application to the prosecutor’s office.
