When it comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the question of the best builds often comes up. A player presented an unusual sniper build on Reddit and the community reacted impressed – but also said that something like that shouldn’t actually be that effective.
On Reddit, user “Nest0r562” shared a video of sniper gameplay in CoD: MW3 on December 11th. However, what is noticeable here is an unusual style of play: he plays the sniper rifle at a relatively short distance.

With the sniper and red dot sight on Meat
What does the player show in the video? In the post by “Nest0r562” you can see how he runs around with the “Longbow” on the map “Meat” in the multiplayer of CoD: MW3. This is a small map that came into play with Season 1.
The “Longbow” is a sniper rifle. However, he plays this with a sight for shorter distances without magnification. He writes in the Reddit post: “I feel dirty using a red dot sight on a sniper.”

How does the community react? The comment with the most upvotes comes from “Hunger_Of_The_Pine_”. He writes that he experienced this in a match yesterday and was angry. Nevertheless, he congratulates the creator of the post and ends with: “Good game, man.”
User “CherryMyFeathers” comments: “Sniper rifles shouldn’t have red dot sights.” And “nickbarbanera1” writes: “There shouldn’t be a one-shot, no matter where? Crazy.” User “VeeDub823” says: “I hate that you can do that. That just defeats the purpose of a sniper rifle.”
Another user commented that sniper rifles need a nerf to their speed. The pace of getting targeted should be increased. “They are not meant to be effective in every situation. Why would anyone play anything else when a Sniper is good in every single situation?”
