— We currently do not know what caused the accident. We are now doing everything we can to assist in these investigations to get clarity on what happened, says Patrik Toresäter, CEO at Andersson Company.
He calls it a tragic accident.
— For us at Andersson Company, the focus is on the people. Our thoughts go out to those affected and their families.
The construction site in Ursvik in Sundbyberg is closed until further notice and no work is in progress. Crisis support from the municipality has been in place. Both the police and the National Accident Commission are investigating the accident.
Patrik Toresäter says that the dead construction workers were employed by a subcontractor hired by Andersson Company.

— We do not have our own employed professionals. We are the main contractor and as the main contractor we are responsible for safety and the workplace as a whole, he says.
Toresäter does not want to answer detailed questions about the elevator in question, but explains that he “assumes that it has been inspected”.
Andersson Company has previously been criticized several times for shortcomings in safety by the Swedish Work Environment Authority, reports Swedish daily newspaper. Among other things, this applies to an incident in 2013 when a worker fell into a shaft opening.
Patrik Toresäter says at the press conference that “unfortunately, accidents happen in the industry”.
— I do not consider that Andersson Company is more affected than anyone else.
He also describes safety as a priority in all the company’s projects.
— I think we have good security here. I don’t know of any flaws.
