Holidays are not only celebrated by people out in the open, but also around Sweden’s institutions. The Kumla institution, which has 529 places in security class 1, which is the highest security class, is no exception.
News24 has previously reported on how the inmates at Kumla celebrate Christmas and what Midsummer Eve might look like for the inmates at Kumla.
But what about Lucia?
Lucia at the Kumla prison
For Nyheter24 tells Sophie Bragesjö, correctional inspector at the Kumla prison, that there will be no lucia train. But the holiday does not go unnoticed either.
– We will have a little Lucia celebration at the learning center. We are already running Christmas movies throughout December, which all inmates can attend.

There will be no special food on the menu on the day in honor, but the inmates will, like so many other Swedes on December 13, receive other treats.
– We will serve the admitted lussefika in the wards, says Bragesjö.
