There is a stop in train traffic at Iggesund outside Hudiksvall after a locomotive derailed at the entrance to the station. The accident affects traffic on the routes Stockholm–Duved, Stockholm–Sundsvall and Stockholm–Umeå.
– The locomotive was supposed to change places and it has run out at a switch at the entrance to Iggesund, says Trafikverket’s press manager Bengt Olsson.
According to The evening paper it is a freight train.
“Very unfortunate”
The Swedish Transport Administration is investigating how traffic can be diverted.
– The locomotive is in a very unfortunate position. We have to go there to investigate if it is possible to lift the locomotive back or if something else needs to be fixed.
The train stop past Iggesund is expected to last for most of the night towards Monday. Until then, replacement traffic will be deployed.
