Milan fell 3-2 against Atalanta yesterday and are nine points behind league leaders Juventus. Coach Stefano Pioli risks being fired.
At the same time, there has been talk of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return in some form of leadership role – and now new reports are coming.
Super consultant
According to La Repubblica, Ibrahimovic, along with his former teammate Ignazio Abate, could take over as interim coach if Pioli is sacked.
Abate is currently the coach of Milan’s primavera – youth team – and played with Zlatan in Milan in the 2011/2012 season.
La Repubblica writes that Ibrahimovic from the sidelines can act as a kind of “super consultant” to Milan’s owner Gerry Cardinale.
