The 15-year-old world record was blown all over the world when Daniel Wiffen took EC gold in the 800 meters.
He finished in 7.20.46 – three seconds faster than Grant Hackett’s 2008 mark.
Hacket’s world record was the oldest in short and long track until it was broken.
– It feels incredible. Breaking the record really feels fantastic, says Wiffen.
Swedish Victor Johansson came fourth, barely 13 seconds behind the winner.
