The Swedish people prefer to drink it with Christmas dinner – and here are the options that are rated

Christmas Eve is fast approaching and in many households it is then time to set the long table, Christmas food and not least something good to drink.

But what do Swedes really like most in their glass when they enjoy the Christmas meal? That question has The food companies posed and in a survey found out the answer.

The question everyone asks: How long does an opened bottle of mulled wine last?

It turns out that at the top of the favorites is, not entirely shockingly, Christmas must, which 78 percent of those surveyed preferred to drink. The least popular are the non-alcoholic options where only five percent want non-alcoholic cider and only one percent non-alcoholic wine.

  • Snaps: 31 percent
  • Mulled wine: 24 percent
  • Other beer (not Christmas beer): 22 percent
  • Wine: 17 percent
  • Alcohol-free beer: 16 percent
  • Soft drinks (not Christmas must): 14 percent
  • Champagne/sparkling wine: 8 percent
  • Cider: 6 percent
  • Alcohol-free cider: 5 percent
  • Juice: 2 percent
  • Alcohol-free wine: 1 percent
  • Vegetable alternatives to milk: 0 percent
  • The survey was carried out by Demoskop on behalf of Livsmedelsföretagen. 1,024 people have been interviewed about Christmas and the planning around their Christmas table.
