After the play “Orestes in Mosul” created with Iraqi and European actors in the Iraqi city where the Islamic State was born, “The New Gospel”, a film which takes up the story of Jesus in the south of Italy with migrants exploited in tomato cultivation, Milo Rau and his company NT Gent founded in Belgium transpose Sophocles’ tragedy, “Antigone” to the heart of the Amazon with the Brazilian Movement of Landless Farmers. A documentary piece, committed as usual by the Swiss director, which mixes professional actors and activists.
