Patrick O’Neal, son of the famous actor Ryan O’Neal, announced that the star, who became famous with the US movie Love Story and was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the movie, passed away yesterday. “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to say, but here I am,” Patrick O’Neal said in a statement. “My father passed away peacefully today, surrounded by his loving team who supported him and loved him like we do,” he said. Stating that his father became an international movie star with the movie Love Story, Patrick O’Neal also described his father as “He is a Hollywood legend.”

Ryan O’Neal also starred in the movie A Bridge Too Far alongside famous stars such as Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins and Laurence Olivier. The movie Love Story, in which he shared the leading role with Ali MacGraw, was released in cinemas in Turkey in 1971 and broke box office records, as in many countries.
