In Normandy, a municipality has implemented, for two and a half years, its own birth bonus which it offers to all new young parents for the arrival of their baby.

If you are expecting a child, you benefit from the birth bonus which is part of the young child care benefit (Paje), paid by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF). But what few people know is that municipalities can also grant their own birth bonus to their residents who have just become parents. This is not the case everywhere, given that this decision is made by each town hall. Either way, it’s an extra financial boost for families.

Recently, the town of Val-de-Perche, in Orne in Normandy, took advantage of its welcome ceremony, to which new residents and parents are invited, to present them in particular with the municipality’s birth bonus. This was put in place two and a half years ago, and the amount is far from negligible. For each birth, 50 euros are paid to the child “on an account opened in one of the three banks in the town”, reports the mayor, Sébastien Thirouard to the daily Free Maine. And to complete this help, an additional 50 euros are offered to parents in the form of a gift card, “for use in a baby layette store”, specifies the elected official.

The municipality of Val-de-Perche is not the only one to offer this type of birth bonus. In Pas-de-Calais, the Auchel town hall has also recently offered a “birth” bonus of 50 euros to parents, the municipality indicates on its website. Your town or village may also offer one without you knowing it, so do not hesitate to contact the town hall directly to obtain information on this subject.
