After the delay of the Lidingö line – Lidingö, SL is threatening damages

On September 11, the Lidingö Railway should have started rolling over the newly built tram bridge between Ropsten and Lidingö.

But the city of Lidingö, which built the bridge, does not agree with SL about electrical safety. An approved final inspection is missing and therefore train traffic cannot start until Easter at the earliest.

Now the city of Lidingö refuses to pay for the replacement buses that run between Ropsten and Lidingö.

– The replacement buses cost approximately SEK 50,000 per day, which is around SEK ten million in six months, says Daniel Broman, city manager in Lidingö city.

Threatens with damages

The construction of the Lilla Lidingö bridge was estimated to cost the city of Lidingö 750 million kroner. That budget now appears to be bursting.

Now Lidingö is threatening to claim damages from SL for the additional costs incurred.
