In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 there is the option to play weapons from the predecessor. However, one player shows how useless one of them is in a clip on Reddit.
If you scroll through the different weapon categories in CoD: MW3, you will notice old, familiar weapons that were also available in MW2 or before. One of these is the crossbow in the DMR category, which was one of the “niche weapons” because it is so slow and only has one shot at a time.
However, with the right setup it could cause a lot of damage. Last year, a user on Reddit showed in a clip how he was mowing away one opponent after another with a crossbow in Warzone.
Even in multiplayer there were players who liked to use the weapon. One of them wrote on Reddit on December 4th that he always enjoyed playing the crossbow because of the consistent oneshot kills. However, that has now changed.

“The crossbow is unusable in MW3”
Now what’s the problem with the gun? On December 4th, user “KaleIsMe” wrote on Reddit that he plays the crossbow all the time. In MW2 she was still consistently taking oneshots, but now, in MW3, she could no longer save his life.
In the accompanying clip, he shows in an approximately 30-second gameplay how he hits the opponents with his crossbow, but they only receive damage without dying. In the end he switches to his pistol to defend himself – but then dies himself in the process.

What do the other players say about this? The comment with the most upvotes comes from “oogaboogadookiemane”. He writes “All MW2 weapons are unbalanced in MW3 multiplayer. In zombie mode, however, the crossbow is one of the best.”
One user notes: “Almost every MW2 weapon is unusable in MW3 due to the imbalance – the MW2 weapons have not yet been rebalanced for 150 HP. If [die Entwickler] If you adjust that, MW2 weapons will finally be usable.” Another user writes: “They have most of the MW2 weapons before release [von MW3] didn’t even touch it and just imported them like that.”
The user “Gatorkid365” writes: “This doesn’t just apply to the crossbow. Many of the DMRs from MW2 are borderline useless. You might as well use an airsoft rifle.” Another user wrote that people were complaining about going down too quickly, so now everyone is a walking “bullet sponge.”
