A Swede has been injured in a shooting in the central parts of the Belgian capital Brussels, confirms EU parliamentarian Jörgen Warborn for TT.

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the injured person is a Swedish woman in her 30s and that next of kin have been informed.
Four people are said to have been injured in the shooting that occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Le Soir reports, citing the police. One of those hit is described as having life-threatening injuries.

“One of our employees has been injured in a shooting in Brussels. Terrible. The person in question is currently receiving treatment, the situation is not considered to be critical. Relatives of the person have been notified,” writes EU parliamentarian Tomas Tobé on X.
“Belgian police are currently working to get more information about what happened. We will get back to you as soon as we have more information about what happened,” writes Tobé further.
Jörgen Warborn does not want to comment on the incident further.
– We refer everything to what Tomas Tobé writes in his post, says Warborn to TT.
No one has been arrested for the shooting. A witness told Le Soir that a gunman fired several shots and that panic broke out.
