Four people were reportedly injured in a shooting in the central parts of the Belgian capital Brussels around 7.30pm on Wednesday, reports Soiree referring to the police.
According to the newspaper, the police say that it is not an act of terrorism. One of those hit is described as having life-threatening injuries.
A Swede shot in Brussels
The Swedish EU parliamentarian Tomas Tobé sign Xformerly Twitter, that one of the injured is an employee of his.
“One of our employees has been injured in a shooting in Brussels. Terrible. The person in question is receiving treatment right now, the situation is not considered to be critical. The person’s relatives have been informed,” writes Tobé.
A witness to the incident told Le Soir that a man armed with a gun fired several shots and that panic broke out.
In mid-October, two Swedes were killed and one injured in a terrorist attack in Brussels.
