The price of electricity is being reduced – that’s how cheap it will be now

The daily price on the Nord Pool electricity exchange drops in all four electricity areas in the pricing ahead of Thursday’s trading.

The decline is most evident in electricity areas 1 and 2 – in northern Sweden – where the daily price drops to SEK 1.10 per kilowatt hour. This can be compared with Tuesday’s SEK 1.81 and Wednesday’s SEK 1.48.

South of the Dalälven, the decline is more moderate. In electricity area 3 – which includes Stockholm and Gothenburg – the daily price drops to SEK 1.30. Farthest south in electricity area 4, the daily price drops to SEK 1.31.

Weak winds, unusually cold weather and production losses in nuclear power have been highlighted as explanations for the price spike earlier this week.
