Publishing a video message last night, Zelenskiy said that the Russian army had more losses in the 19-day war than in both Chechen wars.
Zelenskiy stated that the Russian army was responsible for the “consciously created humanitarian disaster” in Ukrainian cities. “We are working on new sanctions against the Russian state with our partners,” Zelenskiy said.
Zelensky called on the Russian soldiers to lay down their weapons. Zelenskiy said that they listened to the phone calls of the Russian soldiers with their families at home. “I know they want to survive,” said Zelenskiy. Referring to the anti-war protests in Russia, Zelenskiy expressed his gratitude to the Russians who “do not stop telling the truth”.

It is stated that heavy smoke rises over the city. It is not known exactly where the explosions took place, as there is a curfew. Russian forces are trying to besiege Kiev. MORE THOUSAND CIVILIANS DIE IN MARIUPOL ACCORDING TO UKRAINIAN SOURCES
According to the figures given by Ukraine, 2 thousand 357 civilians have lost their lives in the city of Mariupol so far in the war that started on February 24. The port city, with a population of about 400,000, is under siege by Russian troops and has been cut off from the rest of the country. It is stated that intense air attacks were carried out on the city, which is located on the coast of the Azov Sea. Russia claims that only military targets were hit in the attacks.
Mariupol is seen as a symbol of Ukrainian resistance. In the war that started in Donbas in 2014, the efforts of pro-Russian separatists to take the city have been in vain so far.
Adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriyushchenko said that the situation in the city is not humanitarian. “There is no food, no water, no light, no heating,” said Andriyushchenko, adding that the number of casualties could rise to 20 thousand as the intensity of the attacks increased. Zelenskiy also said that for three days, 100 tons of food, water and medicine were not allowed to be transported to Mariupol.
