Great risk of Ukraine losing the war without US money

The US’s continued support for Ukraine has been put in jeopardy.
Now President Zelensky’s chief of staff says Ukraine risks losing the war if US aid is stopped, reports
BBC.
– It will be difficult to maintain the same position, says Andriy Yermak.

At the turn of the year, the funding of American aid to Ukraine ends.

Now Congress is being pressured into a decision to continue the economic and military aid – or not.

“We are out of money and almost out of time,” White House Budget Director Shalanda Young wrote in a letter to representatives of both Republicans and Democrats on Monday.

President Joe Biden believes that $106 billion is needed in emergency funding for efforts in Ukraine, something that the Republicans oppose.

“Difficult for our people to survive”

Now President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff Andriy Yermak has also spoken out about the situation. He believes that there is a “great risk” of a Ukrainian defeat in the war without American support.

– It will be difficult to maintain the same position and for our people to survive, says Andriy Yermak in a speech at the American Peace Institute in Washington DC on Tuesday.

The speech was given just hours before Zelensky pulled out of a planned video conference with several US senators due to a “last-minute” situation.

Since the start of the war, the US Congress has approved $110 million in economic and military aid to Ukraine. This corresponds to over one trillion Swedish kronor.
