Intesa Sanpaolo short week requested by 70 of those eligible

(Finance) – Anticipate changes to build the bank of the future, attentive to the people who work there, taking into account their personal needs, to continue the path of digitalisation and technological innovation, with a strong ESG commitment. With this objective, since the beginning of the year, Intesa Sanpaolo has launched a new work organization model which allows you to integrate multiple tools together: agile working, flexible working hours and short weeks. Among the main innovations are 120 days of smart working per year – which, upon request, rise to 140 for people who work on shifts, for example at the Digital Branch, and for the Information Systems Department – flexibility of hours upon entry between 7am and 10am and the possibility of taking advantage of the short week, 9 hours of work a day for 4 days a week.
“All colleagues in the governance structures – Intesa Sanpaolo says in a note – can work on short weeks compatibly with the company’s needs to monitor activities and a trial has also been activated in 40 large branches of the Banca dei Territori network. Furthermore, from 1 November 2023 the staff of over 250 small branches can voluntarily request the short week, using the branch closing day (between Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) as a rest day.

From the latest data released by Intesa Sanpaolo it emerges that approximately 70% of those who could request it requested the short week qualification (full-time staff of governance and branches being tested, in total approximately 28,500 people). Of these, 42% used the short week in the period March-September, for a total of over 30 thousand weeks. A “growing figure (both qualifications and use) – underlines Intesa Sanpaolo – also in consideration of the experience that colleagues are gaining over time”.
