Michelle Coleman: “Best decision I’ve made”

Michelle Coleman has started the upload for the fourth Olympics of her career. The way there goes via this week’s EC in Bucharest and this winter’s WC in Doha. However, the choice of path was not given.

But a longer break and a side job as a marketer have given the national team swimmer the energy needed for a new venture.

– It was the best decision I have ever made. I’ve talked to people who have taken similar breaks and been better than they ever were afterwards. It gave inspiration and reassurance that it doesn’t have to end just because you stop swimming for a while.

When Michelle Coleman made a comeback during the WC in Fukuoka last summer, the speed was there and the 30-year-old reached, among other things, her first individual WC final in her career.

– The fact that I listened to myself and did what I felt I needed has given me a lot.

Now a busy six months awaits, where the first major task is the EC in Bucharest, where Michelle Coleman will chase new successes in the short freestyle distances of 50 and 100 meters.
