“Living and Dead” the year’s best crime novel

The jury writes in its justification: “The turn of the millennium and the present in a beautiful and wistful story about growing up.”

Among the nominees were writers such as Håkan Nesser, Camilla Grebe and Ninni Schulman.

Jo Callaghan’s “In the blink of an eye” translated by Hanna Williamson was named the best translated novel of the year.

This year’s debut novel is, according to the Deckarakademin, “A farmer’s death” by Negar Naseh and David Sandström, and the Spårhunden award, for best children’s and youth novel, went to Daniel Sjölin’s and Klara Bertilsson’s “Morsan är haffad”.

Carina Burman’s “Deckarrottningar och pretenderten” was awarded as non-fiction book of the year.
