About the author:
Cortyn has invested well over 2,500 hours in Dead by Daylight, putting all the killers through their paces and also playing diligently against them as a survivor. Over the course of many updates and patches, Cortyn has developed a great understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of the different killers and likes to try out new or at first glance perk combinations.
The Trapper/Trapper
The Trapper is the “basic” killer and is probably best suited for beginners. It’s a typical “all-rounder”, easy to learn and perfect for mastering the basics of Dead by Daylight. His character values are the “base” and standard for most other killers. Even without addons, he is a solid choice that can effectively take down survivors.
Special Ability: Bear Traps – The trapper can place bear traps on the ground that will damage and trap the next survivor who steps in them for a while. The killer finds the 6 traps scattered all over the map and their auras are displayed to him. The killer will be informed immediately if a survivor steps into a trap. Other survivors can quickly free the prisoner, but the prisoner himself can also repeatedly try to save himself. Without addons, a survivor needs a maximum of 6 attempts to free themselves from the trap. If the killer reaches the survivor in the bear trap, he can pick him up directly from the trap without having to hit him again.
However, survivors can also disarm the bear traps before entering them. In this case, there is a loud noise that alerts the killer about the defusal.
How to use bear traps correctly? The tactical placement of the bear traps is the trapper’s be-all and end-all.
Who is the Trapper suitable for? Anyone who is new to Dead by Daylight and is delighted when someone falls into his tactically laid traps will be happy with the Trapper. Since it works well without add-ons, it is also suitable for players without large reserves of blood points.
