Cimberly on the win: “Must understand that it’s me”

After three hours of sleep last night, Cimberly Wanyonyi has woken up like a winner. When she looks back on her Idol journey, she tells how it feels like it’s a different person who was there at the beginning. – It’s important to look back, it doesn’t feel that way – it’s me, she says proudly. I have won, and I have done it! “This has changed my life forever” – I have coped more than I thought. Cimberly says that even as a child she loved being on stage. But when I was around 13 it became a bit embarrassing and I became shy. Then I had to work on my sense of embarrassment and in high school it went away. And now to come to this. – I really enjoyed being on stage all the way to the final, says Cimberly and continues: – It’s probably always been in me. Part of the win is that Cimberly gets to release her own record and go on the Diggiloo tour next summer. – It’s so exciting, I’m very excited!, she says. I am so looking forward to my future, no matter what happens. My dream is to be able to live for music for the rest of my life. Cimberly tells how the dream of singing to a large audience, of people dancing being happy and feeling everything – all the emotions, has now come true. “My family has been incredible!” Throughout the journey through Idol, Cimberly has praised her mother for all the support and when asked how proud they are today, she answers. – Yesterday at the final my little brother said, If “pride” were in millimeters, my pride would be enough to reach the moon. My family has been incredible! “Must move to Stockholm” The cohesion in this year’s Idol has been incredibly strong. We share something special. No one knows what we have been through. – I’ve got a family, most of them live in Stockholm. I guess I have to move to Stockholm now, says Cimberly with a laugh. – I know that we will always have each other. But Cimberly gets to stay at home in Skellefteå for a while longer. Now I want to process everything that has happened. In addition, high school awaits. This spring, Cimberly will graduate. – I’m going to do my thesis on Idol. I hope my teacher gives me a pass.
