In a new video on his YouTube channel, Marco from Nerdkultur shows 3 aspects of how the special style makes the film Oppenheimer a masterpiece by star director Christopher Nolan.
The blockbuster Oppenheimer represents a 3-hour montage. At first glance, it seems as if scenes are strung together involuntarily. Only at the end does a coherent picture emerge for the viewer.
The way Nolan puts this montage together and uses special tools make the blockbuster a unique film experience, as Marco explains in his latest video on the YouTube channel Nerdkultur.

3 hours, 3 acts, 3 genres
Marco Risch has been uploading videos about news, reviews, analyzes and interviews about current films, series and video games since 2015. The YouTube channel Nerdkultur is part of the Webedia network, of which MeinMMO is also a part. His channel primarily focuses on “nerdy” topics such as Star Wars, Marvel and DC.
The film analyst explains what’s behind the alternation of black-and-white and color sequences and how Christopher Nolan uses it to cleverly illustrate different perspectives.
On top of that, the director uses three different genres, so that Oppenheimer goes beyond a simple biopic about the famous person.
Here you can find another opinion article from our Moviepilot colleague about the huge blockbuster: I’m still alive: Oppenheimer’s 180-minute excess completely overwhelmed me and sent me home with a headache
Marco then explains what the so-called feedlines are all about and how Nolan cleverly incorporates them into his films to create iconic moments and evoke certain reactions from the surrounding characters.
Once you realize how cleverly Nolan has weaved the montage about the possible end of the world together and into each other, you see Oppenheimer with different eyes: as a masterpiece that is on a par with Nolan’s war film Dunkirk.
