The World Floorball Championships will return to Singapore after an 18-year hiatus, when the fate of the women’s World Cup medals will be decided in Southeast Asia from Saturday. In 2005, Finland reached the final in Singapore, but Switzerland was better 4–3.
Since then, Sweden has taken eight golds in a row, although Finland has often come close. In 2015 and 2017, Sweden was better in the final penalty shootout, and most recently in 2021 in Uppsala Emelie Wibron decided the championship in overtime.
Finland’s previous and at the same time only World Cup golds are from 1999 and 2001.
