Minja Korhonen finished sixth in the opening race of the season in Lillehammer.
16-year-old Minja Korhonen finished sixth in the Combined Women’s World Cup in Lillehammer. The ranking is the Finns’ best ever in the women’s combined.
Korhonen was seventh after the hill section and improved his ranking in 5 km skiing by one.
The competition was won by the Norwegian who dominates the sport Gyda Westvold Hansen. Norway’s triple victory was completed by Ida Marie Hagen and Mari Leinan’s Lund.
Korhonen’s difference to the top was 1.16 after the hill section. In skiing, it did not become much more, as the difference in the final results was 1.20.
Last season, Korhonen was 25th in total points in the Cup and his best ranking was 16th. Coach of the Finnish women’s team Lasse Moilanen predicts that Korhonen can reach five sacks this season with individual top performances. Now it was close already in the first race.
