Chapter 4 in Fortnite is soon coming to an end. Only one day left until the final bang and it will be celebrated with a live event and a performance by Eminem. You can find out what you should know about the event and exactly when it starts here.
When does the Season OG live event start? The live event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 at 8 p.m. German time (via fortnite.com). It’s one of the biggest live events Fortnite has ever created. The developers are ending Chapter 4 and then starting Chapter 5 with a loud bang. The event is called “The Big Bang”.
This is what you should know: Note that you can join event mode 30 minutes before the event. Since this is a huge event, you should log in with your account 3-4 hours before the event, otherwise you may be faced with long queues and therefore miss the event.
Below you will find out what you could expect in the event. If you don’t want to read any spoilers, we advise you not to continue reading.

Live event is intended to mark the new start of Fortnite
What can I expect at the live event? After Patch 27.11, many leakers were able to access the new update data and found that Epic Games had prepared many things that players can expect in the event.
The main attraction of the event is said to be a performance by Eminem, the iconic rapper not to be messed with. According to Epic, this is not a concert, Slim Shady should play an important role and ring in Chapter 5 with us. It is not yet known what Epic Games has planned and whether Eminem will rap one or two songs.
What is known, however, is that Epic Games has entered into a cooperation with Lego. The background image of the Fortnite lobby shows a llama that was assembled with Lego. There were already many rumors from leakers in advance (via twitter.com) that Epic Games was working on a Lego mode and with Chapter 5 it could finally be that time.
Additionally, Fortnite contains the following encrypted data about upcoming modes (via twitter.com):
Epic Games also often let players see or test things in live events that were then added in the new chapter or season. So it could be that players will briefly be able to strut through Fortnite as Lego creatures and drive around in racing cars to test out the new modes.
Last but not least, Epic Games itself says that the Chapter 4 live event will mark a new start for Fortnite. We won’t see how big the restart will actually be until December 2nd.
Will there be a downtime after the event? Yes, and this has already been announced by Epic Games. On Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, Fortnite will start maintenance on its servers at 5:30 a.m. German time.
What happens between the end of the live event and the start of maintenance is unknown, but we suspect that Epic will deactivate the servers after the event. Players have often had to wait in front of an endless loading screen until Epic starts maintenance hours later.
That was all the important information about the upcoming Fortnite live event. If new information is published, we will add it to our post.
