After an 8-month break, Simon “Unge” Wiefels returns to Twitch. While he reports on his time off, he offers an insight into the planned content and emphasizes that his focus is now different than before.
On November 28th he reappeared (almost) unannounced on Twitch and streamed there for an hour. In the stream entitled “Small test stream completely relaxed” he reflected on his time off and gave a brief insight into his plans for upcoming content. He no longer sees himself primarily in the “Just Chatting” category.
A spontaneous stream with an average of 12,000 viewers
This is how the first stream went after the break: On November 28th, Unge streamed “unplayed” relatively spontaneously on his Twitch channel. He didn’t say anything on YouTube or Instagram. He only wrote something about it on [auf X] I said that I was doing a small test stream today, so it was relatively spontaneous.”
At the beginning of the live stream he says he was excited, he thought he was doing “a small, leisurely test round, but suddenly so many people come here.” A “small talk group” is planned in which he would like to report on what he is doing I’ve been doing this for the past 8 months.
He has a lot to say and didn’t expect so many people to tune in, says Unge with a grin. That was “really surreal.”
An average of 12,000 people watched the live stream (via sullygnome.com). The stream’s video currently has over 112,000 views. There is an almost 9-minute summary of the stream on the YouTube channel unplayed – it already has over 293,000 views:
What happened during the time off? Unge explains that in recent years he has felt increasingly uncomfortable with social interactions. This led to his fears of social situations becoming greater. But he then sought help and for almost 4-5 months he has been feeling better than “in the last 10 years combined.”
He needed the time for himself and the distance from the “big social media world”. In the meantime, he streamed on a smaller channel in English and “tried things out a bit” because he wanted to continue streaming.
I also actively looked for contacts again, I left the island for the first time in 5 years. You know, I live on Madeira in Portugal, I moved here 5 years ago. And I haven’t left the island for a single day in 5 years.
I’ve never been to Germany again, I’ve never been on vacation anywhere else or anything.

Unge wants to bring “that gaming” back
These are his plans: After his 8-month break, he realized that he wanted to focus on something else. There will be reactions in between, but he wants to concentrate on gaming now.
I want to focus my focus on gaming here on Twitch. Why? Because I feel like this whole “Just Chatting” section has gotten so big in the last few years and become so normal that I just want to bring a little bit of that gaming back. I’m just up for it.

He wants to “ball through” the coming weekend. There will be other things than WoW in the coming days – but that is “his love.”
He wants to play and stream the new “Season of Discovery” in WoW Classic, including with Papaplatte.
The streamer colleague was recently robbed twice at an event. Items worth over €9,000 are said to have been stolen from him in one evening:
