The Council of State ruled in mid-February that the province had correctly revoked the permits in the summer of 2020 because criminal offenses could be committed. For example, the Amsterdam court ruled at the end of last year that the biogas plant illegally traded the residual product of the biogas production as fertilizer, for which two company directors received heavy fines and heavy community service. Because the company appealed several times against the county’s decision two years ago, there was only a final revocation of the permits last month.
