It is about thousands and thousands of email addresses that went offline when there was a total technical breakdown at the city of Helsingborg last Thursday.
All operations were affected by the accident, including Rescue Service Nordväst.
– But our emergency operations were not affected. Then it’s a matter of telephone or radio contact, says Håkan Widesjö, officer on duty.
Many still closed
Now most email channels are open again – except for 1,200 addresses spread across the city.
– It was not a cyber attack against the city but a major technical problem, says Jonna Myrebris, deputy city manager in Helsingborg.
She says that during the night to Wednesday, they began to gradually release the servers.
– We were careful not to create another accident.
Worked around the clock
Jonna Myrebris says that the technical staff together with external experts have been working around the clock since Thursday to get the email system up and running again.
– The error has been found and fixed and should not be able to happen again, It has been fantastic efforts, she says.
Any complaints from the citizens of Helsinki?
– No, not a single one that reached me, says Jonna Myrebris.
