In several parts of the country, they have been forced to cancel this year’s lucia train, as the commitment has decreased. Now Filipstad is doing everything in its power to keep the annual tradition alive, which TV4 News was the first to report on.
The reason why there are fewer lucia trains is because the assignment as Lucy has become less popular, writes TV4 News.
If no one wants to stand up and make lucia trains, there is a risk that they will disappear, as they have already done in many parts of the country.
Filipstad is doing everything to get a Lucia train this year
According to Anna Johansson, parish assistant in Filipstad, interest in Lucia trains has decreased after the pandemic. Despite that, they are now fighting to get a Lucia train this year as well.
– Everyone who wants to can join, Anna Johansson tells TV4 News and continues:
– We have expanded the age range so that high school can also participate this year. Last year we only had junior high school, but we’re taking high school this year as well.
Then your package delivery may be delayed – according to the courier service: “Not unusual”
People from outside Filipstad are also allowed to join and participate
You don’t even have to come from Filipstad to join their Lucia train. Now they can think of people even outside the municipal boundary, if that would cause the Lucia train to disappear.
– Anyone really, says Anna Johansson to TV4 Nyheterna.
