North Korea, which has an endless conflict with the United States, escalated tensions with its spy satellite move. North Korea announced the photos allegedly taken with the spy satellite “Malligyong-1” sent into space last week.
PHOTOS RECEIVED BY KIM JONG-UN
In the news of North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), it was stated that the country’s leader Kim Jong-un examined the operation report on the spy satellite and the photographs of the White House and Pentagon taken by the satellite.
In the news, the satellite took pictures of four nuclear attack-capable ships of the US Navy and a British aircraft carrier in Virginia’s Norfolk Port and Newport News Shipbuilding Company, an airport in Virginia, Andersen Air Force on the US-owned Guam Island. It was claimed that he also took images from the Turkish Armed Forces Base and Rome, the capital of Italy.
ATTEMPTS RESULTED IN FAILURE AGAIN
North Korea attempted to launch a military spy satellite on May 31, but the attempt failed due to a malfunction in the carrier rocket system. The Pyongyang administration described this attempt as the “most serious mistake” in the first half of the year.
North Korea announced that the satellite would be launched again “correctly” in a short time, despite international condemnation.
The Pyongyang administration made a second spy satellite launch attempt on August 23, but announced that it also failed. After this unsuccessful attempt, North Korea announced that it would try again in October.
