Japanese automotive giant Nissan introduced the prototype of the Moon vehicle developed in partnership with the Japan Space Exploration Agency (JAXA) to the public. It has been reported that the vehicle, which takes advantage of the engine control technology developed by Nissan for use in electric vehicles, is aimed to move smoothly on the wavy surface of the Moon.
HAVE SPECIAL WHEELS
It was stated that the exploration vehicle, which is designed to move without a driver and is expected to work with solar energy, is equipped with special wheels that adapt to the lunar surface. In the statement made by Nissan, it was stated that the company will continue the project development process with JAXA, while it is not yet clear when the vehicle will be ready for use.
HONDA’S TARGET IS THE MONTH
It is known that Honda, another automotive manufacturer based in Japan, is working in partnership with JAXA on an exploration vehicle that is targeted to be sent to the Moon in 2029. Honda is also working on a renewable energy system that will provide oxygen, hydrogen and electricity for use in space exploration projects.
