During the afternoon, the police were called to Sjöbo municipality due to a traffic accident. According to the alarm, a person must have been hit.
The person hit, a girl under the age of 15, had to be taken to hospital by ambulance, the police say.
– It is a serious accident, police spokesperson Evelina Olsson told TV4 Nyheterna earlier in the day.

Later in the evening, the police announced that the girl, who is in elementary school, died from her injuries. Relatives have been notified.
Witnesses must be interviewed and the accident must be investigated further.
