Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s (M) question period in Gothenburg was interrupted by shouts and critical words from pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
“You have blood on your hands,” was one of the messages directed at the prime minister.
Kristersson was at Pusterviksbaren for a political question and answer session, marketed as an informal afterwork, together with Elisabeth Svantesson (M). But it got messy when it came to Israel and Palestine during question time.

Outside, on Järntorget, around 200 people had gathered for a pro-Palestinian demonstration. Inside the premises, eight people are reported to have been removed by the police for disturbing the order.
“When we met tonight together with a few hundred citizens of Gothenburg, the whole meeting was ruined by a growling and yawning group of people, who refused to respect all the others who had come there to ask their questions,” writes Kristersson on Facebook.
According to both GP and SVT, Kristersson interrupted his question session prematurely because of the disturbance, after half an hour. To SVT, one of the prime minister’s press secretaries says that the meeting had no definite end time.
“Our democratic culture is important to us and we will never accept that the parliament of the street takes over. We do not bow to aggressive slackers,” writes Kristersson.
A similar question and answer session in Malmö in September was canceled after climate activists disrupted the event.
