Tomorrow looks set to bring snow, rain and wind that will cause problems in several parts of the country.
Among other things, Wasaline has been forced to cancel two out of three ferry departures between Umeå and Vaasa.
– I can’t remember the last time we canceled a departure, says the company’s communications manager Catarina Fant.
Ahead of Wednesday, SMHI has issued a yellow warning for gale force winds in the northern Baltic Sea, which affects ferry traffic. Wasaline had to cancel two out of three departures during Wednesday.
– It is very unusual for our ferry departures to be cancelled, but safety comes first, says Catarina Fant, communications manager at Wasaline.
During Wednesday evening, the ferries are expected to run as usual again.
Messy along the roads
Early tomorrow, there will be an area of precipitation that will affect the entire country.
– In northern Sweden, we will see snowfall. The same thing in Svealand and northern Götaland, but it changes to rain later in the day. Further south, there may be some rain, says Lars Rydqvist, meteorologist at Klart.
SMHI has also issued a yellow warning for wind in combination with snowfall in western Svealand during Wednesday. Something that can cause it out in traffic.
– It looks like it will be slippery along the roads in Värmland and Dalarna and the surrounding area. You can expect that there will be some mud and obscured visibility due to the snow, says Lars Rydqvist.
Cold this weekend
On Friday, colder air moves in over the country and at the moment it looks like there will be a lot of snow in a short time in eastern Central Sweden.
– This weekend it will be even colder. You can expect several minus degrees in the middle of the day in almost the entire country, says Lars Rydqvist.
