Faker is world champion for the fourth time
Lee Faker Sang-hyeok is undoubtedly a living legend and is considered one of the most outstanding and best players in League of Legends history. His impressive career began back in 2013 when he won his first world title at the Worlds at just 17 years old.
The years 2015 and 2016 were also marked by success, as Faker won the LoL Worlds again and established himself as a dominant force in the scene. His exceptional talent, tactical skills and ability to lead his team to peak performance made him a champion and a legend.
Despite these successes, Faker experienced a phase of disappointment in the years that followed. In 2017, he lost to Samsung Galaxy in the final with T1 and was unable to defend the title. This moment was particularly emotional as Faker burst into tears after the loss. The following years no longer brought the same shine and success – in 2018 T1 did not make it to the Worlds.
But the unkillable demon king Faker will now win the world championship title for the fourth time at the Worlds 2023 and for the first time in his home country of South Korea.
Today, T1 secured victory against and is therefore the world champion of LoL Worlds 2023. Fans can expect a series of skins from T1 to be implemented into the game soon, as has always been the case before.
What’s next? On December 9th, 2023, T1 will come to Germany and play against the German streamer team NNO in Berlin. Faker will compete against the popular German LoL streamers NoWay and Tolkin.
