Azerbaijan’s football men were told “You old, you free” instead of their own national anthem before the European Championship qualifier away to Belgium.
Then Romelu Lukaku, who was closest to the Azeri players, had to step in and alert the stadium staff to the miss.
Once Azerbaijan, who beat Sweden 3-0 on Thursday, heard their anthem – the third national anthem played this evening – Lukaku then made short work of the visitors as the match got under way.
The Belgian goal machine struck and scored four goals in 37 minutes.
Belgium won the European Championship qualifier 5–0 and took home the group victory in the Swedish group ahead of Austria.
