One person died following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 east of St. Marys late Thursday afternoon.

Perth County OPP officials said emergency services, including police, Perth County paramedics and the St. Marys Fire Department, responded to the crash involving two passenger vehicles on Highway 7 (Elginfield Road) between Perth Road 118 and Perth Line 9 at 4:30 p.m.

One person was extricated from an involved vehicle and taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead. A second person was taken to hospital with injuries deemed not to be life threatening. There were no other injuries reported.
Highway 7 between the two roundabouts was closed for several hours Thursday night as Perth County OPP and the OPP’s West Region traffic incident management and enforcement team investigated the cause of the crash.
