Innovation Village 2023 ABzero the startup that transports blood and

(Finance) – ABzero is the winner of the fifth edition of the Innovation Village Award, which took place at the Porta del Parco Auditorium in Naples. There startup from Pisa developed the first system that provides a specialized transport service for products such as blood, organs, tissues, biological samples which require quality control during transportation. With the solution Smart Capsules, the capsule is able to monitor not only the temperature and humidity of the transported goods, but also pH and haemolysis, ensuring ideal conditions for the goods during transport. And it can be transported by any vehicle, including drones.

The satisfaction of Giuseppe Tortora, founder and CEO of ABzero “The idea was born from the need to transport perishable medical material between hospitals in a traceable and fast way, combining the sensorisation of the Smart Capsule with use with autonomous vehicles and drones, through an App that doctors can use to enable the service”.

To the second placethe Neapolitan project was classified Prisma-I-Pro, which presented a mechanically robust robotic hand equipped with force sensors positioned at the fingertips, capable of providing tactile sensation when grasping and manipulating objects.

On stage IV Award 2023 in Bagnoli the best 24 projects of this year alternatedor, chosen from the 185 applications coming from innovators from all over Italy. The finalists were voted by the jury present in the audience, which brought together 108 leading figures from innovation, journalism, institutions and the academic world. The Optima Italia Tournament, which awarded the first prize, was focused on the presentation of projects, people, sustainability objectives and possible developments of the competing proposals, through new formats and methods.

The award is established by Knowledge for Business with ASviS and ENEAorganized with Tecup and the support of the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples and Optima Italia main sponsor, with the patronage of the Ministry of University and Research.
