The NHL has arrived in Sweden.
Then became it a dramatic meeting that was decided in overtime.
– Especially scoring goals at home, says 1-4 goalscorer Lucas Raymond.
The NHL is in Sweden for the first time since 2019 for the Global Series in Stockholm. The four teams that crossed the Atlantic are the Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild.
Raymond’s goal

Although the Red Wings started the first period well, it was Ottawa who scored the goals. Before the second period, it was 3–0, which was extended to 4–0 to the Senators early in the second.
But after just over ten minutes played in the second period, the Detroit Swede stepped up Lucas Raymond forward and scored 1–4. With that, the Red Wings began their path to a tie, and at the second period break the score was 4–4.
Brännström scoreless
A scoreless third period led to overtime. Then stepped Tim Stutzle forward and made it 5-4 with two(!) seconds left in overtime, thus deciding the game for Ottawa.
– A point is a point and coming back from 4-0 is not easy, but of course we would have liked to win the match. But, another chance tomorrow, says Lucas Raymond after the match.

The Gothenburger had family and friends at the match, when he had to score an important goal.
– Of course, especially to score goals at home, in front of the family and everyone else. It would have been even more fun with a win, but it felt fun, says Raymond.
The Ottowa Swede Erik Brannstrom left the ice without a point.
The next game in the NHL Global Series is played between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday at 20:00.
