Urheilu’s expert Henri Haapamäki assesses Esapekka Lapi’s future as bright, even though he will no longer compete in the full World Series next season.
– Esapekka himself actually revealed that the partial season was his own decision. He wants to organize time for his family. If you can decide such a thing yourself, then it shows that a few outings have not watered down Lapland’s reputation, Haapamäki estimates.
Haapamäki sees that Lapland’s reputation has not suffered, even though he has had several outings this season.
– Lapland is really fast and a good driver. After all, he is a candidate to even win the World Rally Championship, even more podium places this year. The momentum has not disappeared anywhere, he can drive all the way to the top, Haapamäki believed.
Nowadays, there are so few teams in the World Rally Championship that getting there is not a matter of course for anyone.
– Definitely a great thing if you think about how few team places there are in the main class of the World Series, Haapamäki reminded.
