(Finance) – Japan’s trade balance closed in deficit in October.
According to Ministry of Finance of Japan (MOF), the seasonally adjusted trade balance recorded a deficit of 662.5 billion yen. The figure compares with the surplus of 72.1 billion yen in September, while in October 2022 there was a deficit of 2,205.9 billion. Market expectations indicated a deficit of 735.7 billion yen.
In terms of volumes, export reports a year-on-year increase of 1.6% to 9,147.07 billion yen, while the imports recorded a decline of 12.5% to 9,809.6 billion yen.
