The humanoid robots look amazingly real. They are intended to bring security for everyone. In the end, exactly the opposite is the case: when two surrogates are murdered, their operators also die. FBI agent Tom Greer (Bruce Willis) is then assigned to the investigation and finds himself caught up in a conspiracy.
