Two heads of the Russian intelligence service FSB are said to have been placed under house arrest in Russia on suspicion of espionage.
There is reportedly a rift between the Russian state leadership and the Russian intelligence service, the FSB. According to news sources, the head of the FSB’s intelligence department in Ukraine Sergei Besedan and the deputy chief Anatoly Bolyukhin rumored to have been placed under house arrest in Russia.
FSB bosses are suspected of embezzling funds intended for espionage in Ukraine and deliberately misrepresenting the political situation in Ukraine.
According to BBC sources, there are indications that Putin is seriously concerned about the situation and is believed to suspect that there are Western spies inside the FSB.
The FSB team, led by Beseda, is believed to be planning a coup in Ukraine to replace the country’s administration with a pro-Russian regime. The task of the team is to collect intelligence data in Ukraine.
