What can’t be killed? Cockroaches and MCU heroes. Since the invention of the multiverse, Marvel has been able to bring any number of fan favorites back to the cinema as alternative versions. Maybe this is how the supposedly planned Black Widow return should go. Actress Scarlett Johansson but at most wants to return as undead.

“[Mein Figuren-Tod in Avengers 4] was kind of the end, right?” Johansson ponders on the Today Show about what plans Marvel might have for a new Black Widow appearance. “Am I returning as a vampire? I’m there! Or as a zombie.”
Rumor has it Marvel is actually considering a return for Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. After the failure of films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, many fans won’t be surprised by the idea. But how seriously can you take the rumor?
When asked if Marvel had contacted her about a return, Johansson answered evasively. Maybe she’ll make a deal next week and appear in Black Widow 2 in 2027, who knows. Or maybe she wants to let her character rest, multiverse or not.
