A 75-year-old woman was found dead in Gnojsö on Monday evening. It was shortly before 19:00 that the police were alerted that the woman was found badly injured outside, but when they arrived at the scene, she was found to be dead.
The police are tight-lipped about the incident but write on their website that circumstances that emerged later in the evening lead to a preliminary investigation into murder being launched. There are no suspects in the crime.
The place where the woman was found has been cordoned off and will continue to be investigated during the day.
