Denmark’s football association writes on X, formerly Twitter, that the 21-year-old has turned down the U21 national team’s match against Morocco, which is played in Spain.
A week ago he opened up about his fear of flying and that he has sought help for this.
“The club has arranged some talks and found someone I can talk to,” he told Ekstra Bladet.
He has previously traveled by train to a long-distance away match with the U21 national team. Then Denmark played in the Czech Republic, a journey that took him 23 hours. But now he turns down the upcoming international match in Spain and is replaced by Jakob Breum.
Lind plays every day in Silkeborg and tops the scoring league in the Danish top league.
He is not the first footballer to have spoken openly about his fear of flying. Former Arsenal star Dennis Bergkamp missed some away games during his career due to a fear of flying and, when possible, chose other means of travel.
