In France, a former Rwandan doctor is, from November 14, 2023, before the Paris Assize Court. Sosthène Munyemana is suspected of having participated in the genocide of the Tutsi in 1994 in Rwanda. At the material time, he was an obstetrician-gynecologist in Butare, in the south of the country. He will be tried for genocide, crimes against humanity, participation in an agreement with a view to the preparation of these crimes and complicity. This is the oldest case investigated in France on facts linked to the Tutsi genocide.
